                * * *
      Love to the grave.
      Life to the grave.
      They'll inform you specially
            of what there is beyond.
      And if there is anything there,
      you'll find out. Meanwhile just forget.
      Forget and remember just this:
      the fields from dawn to dawn,
      you lift your eyes
            and there are the heavens,
      you lower them
            and the grass and dew are there.

                * * *
      Again the fateful minutes.
      Again History itself stands
      with its full weight on the neck
      and drives mortals mad
      and bends the ancient trees.

      Once more
            there's no time to breathe
      and one has to immediately hurry
      in a necessary direction,
      realizing what's coming into being
      and helping to destroy.

      As to life itself,
      you have no time to live,
      you shouldn't even think of it
      because there is a revolt in spring,
      reforms in summer
            and re-elections in winter.
